Chromis enchrysura
Origin: Western Atlantic, Bahamas to Brazil
Chromis enchrysura is a pale lavender-white chromis from deep outer reef walls of the Western Atlantic, instantly distinguished by its bright yellow tail fork that creates a beautiful bicolour contrast against its pale body. Common in the Bahamas and Brazil, it schools readily and adapts well to aquarium life, offering one of the most elegant and underutilised small schooling fish options for Caribbean biotope or general reef displays. Fully reef safe.
Keep in groups of at least 5 in a 150 L or larger reef system. Feed small pellets, frozen mysis, and zooplankton-based foods twice daily. Maintain temperature 24–27°C, SG 1.021–1.025. Compatible with all peaceful reef fish and corals. Provide open water swimming space above live rock. Ensure a tight lid — chromis are agile jumpers. An excellent, peaceful, and beautiful addition to Atlantic-themed reef aquariums.
