About

Anubias barteri 'Pinto' is a highly sought-after tissue culture cultivar prized for its striking variegated leaves displaying random patches and marbling of white, cream, and green that create a uniquely individual, collector-worthy plant — no two leaves are ever identical. The variegation results from a chlorophyll mutation and is stable in tissue culture but can be variable in growth. It requires the same easy, low-light, slow-growing care as all standard Anubias species but commands a significant premium for its extraordinary and unique visual appeal.

Care Guide

Attach to driftwood or rock with thread, elastic band, or aquarium-safe gel — do not bury the rhizome in substrate as it will rot. Provide low to medium lighting. No CO₂ required. Feed via liquid fertilizer added to the water column. The white portions of the leaf contain no chlorophyll and are fragile — avoid intense direct lighting that may bleach or damage the pale sections. Growth is very slow. Ideal for both freshwater and terrarium setups.
