Aponogeton crispus
Origin: Sri Lanka
Aponogeton crispus is one of the easiest and most impressive aquarium bulb plants. Its undulating, bright-green leaves with crinkled margins create an eye-catching display. Grows from a corm/bulb that can be left in the substrate permanently. May require a dormancy period after flowering.
Low to medium light. Plant bulb just below surface of substrate. CO2 and fertilizers improve leaf size and density. pH 6.0–8.0, temperature 20–28°C. May produce white flower spikes above the waterline. Dormancy (1–2 months in cooler, dimmer conditions) may be needed before re-growth.
