Aponogeton crispus
Origin: Sri Lanka
Aponogeton crispus is a traditional aquarium bulb plant with distinctively wavy-edged, lance-shaped translucent leaves in green to light brown. It is one of the easiest Aponogeton species to grow and tolerates a wide range of conditions. Unlike many Aponogetons it flowers and sets seed readily in the aquarium. It grows from a compact bulb and is excellent for beginners wanting a classic-looking planted tank without demanding care.
Light: medium. Plant bulb in substrate — do not fully bury. No CO2 required. Temperature: 22–28°C. Resting period may occur (die-back then regrowth) — normal lifecycle.
