Aponogeton natans
Also known as: Indian Floating Aponogeton Bulb Pack, Indian Aponogeton
Origin: South / Southeast Asia
This bulb pack of Aponogeton natans offers one of the best-value entries into aquatic bulb planting. A. natans is widely considered the easiest Aponogeton species to grow from bulb: each corm germinates quickly, grows vigorously, and within weeks produces floating oval leaves and, in open-top conditions, fragrant white flower spikes above the water surface.
Each bulb is a dormant, viable corm ready to plant directly into a nutrient-rich substrate. Simply bury halfway with the growing tip just exposed in warm water at 22–28 °C under moderate light. No CO2 is needed. The Indian Floating Aponogeton tolerates moderate hardness, a broad pH range, and is highly adaptable to a variety of aquarium and garden pond conditions.
For beginners to aquatic bulb plants, for garden water feature enthusiasts, and for aquarists wanting reliable floating-leaf coverage in an open-top display, this bulb pack is a simple and rewarding purchase that delivers results quickly and consistently.
Light: Medium; natural sunlight for outdoor setups; broad-spectrum indoor LED for 10 hours in aquariums. CO2: Not required; germinates and grows reliably without any supplementation. Fertilisation: Root tabs every 8–10 weeks; liquid fertiliser monthly accelerates growth. Placement: Plant bulbs at rear or centre of aquarium; floating leaves need unobstructed surface access. Propagation: Prolific seed production from flowers; offset bulbs produced at the corm base.
