Bacopa lanigera
Also known as: Woolly Bacopa, Hairy Bacopa
Origin: South America
Bacopa lanigera is a rare and distinctive Bacopa species bearing softly hairy (lanate) oval leaves that have a visibly velvety texture under close inspection. The tissue culture form ensures a clean, pest-free introduction of this uncommon plant. Growth is upright and columnar, similar to other Bacopa species, with moderate speed under medium light. CO2 is not required but improves vigour. The plant is best used in the midground or background as an accent species whose unusual hairy leaf surface provides textural contrast to the smooth leaves of other stem plants. It tolerates a reasonably wide range of water parameters. Trim regularly to encourage branching and a more compact, bushy appearance. A botanical curiosity for specialist planted tank enthusiasts.
Light: Medium CO2: Not required but beneficial Fertilisation: Basic macro and micro liquid dosing Placement: Midground to background accent Propagation: Top cuttings; stems branch after trimming
