Bucephalandra sp. Brownie Ghost

Bucephalandra sp. 'Brownie Ghost' is one of the most coveted Bucephalandra cultivars in the planted tank hobby. Its semi-translucent, dusty brownish-grey leaves with an intense blue-violet iridescent shimmer are unique in the plant world. At certain angles the leaves appear almost glowing. A very slow grower that is best appreciated on a clean piece of dark stone or wood where its ghostly appearance can be fully admired. Increasingly captive-propagated; availability is improving.

Attach rhizome to dark stone or driftwood — do not bury. Medium lighting. CO2 improves growth speed and colour intensity. Temperature 22–28 °C. Soft, slightly acidic water ideal. Patience required — this plant grows very slowly.
