Bucephalandra sp. 'Kedagang'
Also known as: Buce Kedagang, Kedagang Bucephalandra
Origin: Borneo, Malaysia
Bucephalandra sp. 'Kedagang' originates from the Kedagang river system in Borneo and is one of the most recognisable buce morphs in the aquascaping hobby. Its compact rosette of dark green leaves displays a characteristic blue-green iridescence that becomes more pronounced under LED lighting. Like all Bucephalandra, it grows on a creeping rhizome that must not be buried, and it anchors readily to driftwood, lava rock, and other hardscape surfaces. In time, mature plants produce small white spathe flowers underwater, adding a delightful detail to established layouts.
Light: Low to medium; 20–40 PAR is sufficient, stronger light intensifies iridescence. CO2: Not required; supplemental CO2 accelerates growth slightly. Water: pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard (GH 0–12). Planting: Tie or glue rhizome to hardscape; never bury the rhizome in substrate. Growth: Very slow; trim only dead or damaged leaves, divide rhizome to propagate.
