Bucephalandra sp. 'Mini Needle Leaf'
Also known as: Buce Mini Needle, Mini Needle Buce
Origin: Borneo, Malaysia
Bucephalandra sp. 'Mini Needle Leaf' is a diminutive morph that stands out even among the famously compact buce family for its exceptionally narrow, needle-shaped leaves. This tiny rhizome plant is ideal for attaching to small pebbles, thin branches of driftwood, and interstices in rock arrangements. Its slow, predictable growth makes it easy to maintain as a detail accent without risk of overpowering neighbouring plants. Under good conditions it occasionally produces small white flowers submerged, rewarding patient aquascapers.
Light: Low; 15–35 PAR; excessive light encourages algae on slow-growing leaves. CO2: Not required; optional CO2 at low levels can help. Water: pH 6.0–7.2, soft water preferred (GH 0–8). Planting: Attach rhizome to hardscape with thread or aquarium-safe glue. Growth: Very slow; wipe algae from leaves gently with a soft brush.
