Bucephalandra sp. 'Purple'

Bucephalandra 'Purple' produces leaves with deep violet to purple-tinged colouration, particularly vivid on new growth and under high-intensity lighting. The iridescent purple sheen makes it a prized focal-point plant when mounted on hardscape. Best colour is achieved with consistent CO2 supplementation and moderate to high light.

Attach rhizome to hardscape in medium light for best purple colouration. CO2 and iron-rich fertilisation enhance purple intensity. In low light the leaves may trend more green. Very slow grower. Liquid micro fertiliser weekly. A spectacular colour accent plant in mature aquascapes. Propagate by rhizome division.
