Bucephalandra sp. 'Red'

Bucephalandra sp. 'Red' displays beautiful brick-red to crimson colouration on new leaves, which mature to dark reddish-green as they age. The contrast between young red growth and older darker leaves creates a dynamic eye-catching appearance on driftwood and rock. CO2 injection enhances the intensity of red colouration significantly.

Attach rhizome to hardscape in medium light for best red colouration. CO2 and iron dosing are recommended to maintain red intensity. In low light new growth may be less vividly red. Liquid micro fertiliser weekly. Very slow grower. Propagate by rhizome division when mature enough. A colourful accent in Nature Aquarium compositions.
