Bucephalandra sp. 'Selangau'
Also known as: Buce Selangau, Selangau Bucephalandra
Origin: Sarawak, Borneo
Bucephalandra sp. 'Selangau' is named for its collection locality along the Selangau river in Sarawak, Borneo. It features broader, slightly undulating leaves compared to many buce morphs, with a pronounced metallic sheen ranging from teal to blue-green depending on the angle of light. Its medium size makes it versatile as a midground anchor or a transitional plant between foreground carpets and taller background species. It is reliably slow-growing and does not require CO2 to maintain health.
Light: Low to medium; 25–45 PAR; iridescence is most vivid under directional LED. CO2: Not required; optional for slightly faster growth. Water: pH 6.0–7.2, soft to moderately hard. Planting: Tie or glue rhizome to wood or stone; leave rhizome fully exposed. Growth: Slow; new leaves emerge every 3–6 weeks under good conditions.
