Bucephalandra sp. 'Theia'
Also known as: Buce Theia, Theia Bucephalandra
Origin: Borneo, Malaysia
Bucephalandra sp. 'Theia' is a premium morph renowned for its elongated leaf form and the intensity of its blue-purple iridescent sheen, which rivals some of the most coveted buce varieties in the competitive aquascaping market. The leaves display a complex play of colour — dark green in ambient light, shifting to vivid blue or violet under directional LED illumination. It is slower growing than average and benefits from slightly elevated nutrients and optional CO2 supplementation to maintain its peak colouration.
Light: Medium; 35–55 PAR; directional full-spectrum LED maximises iridescent effect. CO2: Beneficial; 15–25 ppm for optimal colour and steady growth. Water: pH 6.0–7.0, soft to slightly hard (GH 0–10). Planting: Secure rhizome to hardscape; do not bury or cover rhizome. Growth: Very slow; a new leaf every 4–8 weeks is normal.
