About

Ceratophyllum submersum is the softer, more delicate relative of common Hornwort, featuring finer, more flexible whorled foliage and a preference for warmer water temperatures. Like Hornwort, it is completely rootless and floats freely or can be weighted at the base. An excellent plant for breeding tanks and tropical community aquariums, offering natural cover and effective nitrate export.

Care Guide

No substrate or CO2 required. Float bunches freely or use plant weights to anchor at the desired depth. Prefers warmer temperatures (18–28°C) than common Hornwort. Remove excess growth regularly to maintain water clarity. Provides excellent infusoria and microorganism habitat for raising fry.
