Ceratopteris thalictroides — Water Sprite

Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) is one of the fastest-growing aquatic plants available. It can be planted in substrate or left floating at the surface. As a floating plant, it provides surface cover and excellent nitrate absorption, benefiting fry tanks and breeding setups. Produces adventitious plantlets on its fronds.

Float at the surface or plant in substrate — both work equally well. No CO2 required. Moderate to high light promotes fastest growth. Produces daughter plantlets on the fronds — pinch off and replant or discard. Hardy, adaptable, and ideal as a nutrient sponge for new tanks or fry setups.
