Cryptocoryne balansae

Cryptocoryne balansae is an imposing background crypt with long, deeply corrugated leaves that can reach 50 cm in height. The textured surface of the dark-green leaves creates an interesting visual effect. Unlike many crypts, it does well in both soft and hard water.

Medium light. Root tabs essential as a heavy root feeder. CO2 beneficial but not required. pH 6.0–7.5, temperature 22–28°C. Do not disturb once planted. Crypt melt possible when first introduced. Excellent for background planting in tanks 60 cm or taller.
