Where the standard balansae is predominantly dark green, this form leans strongly toward rich brown tones that contrast beautifully with bright green plants. Its care requirements are identical to the standard species, making it equally easy to grow. The deeper pigmentation is maintained under moderate to strong light with good iron nutrition.
