Cryptocoryne cordata 'Rosanervig'
Also known as: Pink-nerve Crypt, Rosanervig Crypt, Pink-vein Cordata
Origin: Southeast Asia
Cryptocoryne cordata 'Rosanervig' is a selected ornamental variety distinguished from the type species by its spectacular venation — the lateral veins stand out in sharp pink, cream, or whitish tones against dark olive-green to purplish leaf blades, creating a mosaic-like pattern that is truly stunning under aquarium lighting. It shares the same general care requirements as C. cordata but is slightly more demanding, performing best in stable, mature aquariums with good substrate nutrition and moderate light to develop its full colour potential.
Light: Low to medium; medium light intensifies the pink vein colouration. CO2: Beneficial; improves leaf size and vein colour expression. Substrate: Rich substrate or root tabs every 3 months; liquid fertiliser for micronutrients. Planting: Expose crown; allow 15 cm space; use as a specimen midground focal point. Growth: Slow; disturbing the plant can trigger crypt melt — replant minimally.
