Cryptocoryne grabowskii
Also known as: Grabowski's Crypt, Borneo Oval Crypt
Origin: Borneo
Cryptocoryne grabowskii is a medium-sized species from the rivers of Borneo, producing broadly oval to elliptic leaves in attractive medium to dark green. The leaf surface displays a gentle bullate texture that adds visual interest without the dramatic corrugation of some other Bornean species. It is a reliable and reasonably adaptable species, tolerating soft to moderately soft water conditions well. Like most Cryptocoryne from Borneo, it grows best in warm, slightly acidic water with stable chemistry and dislikes abrupt changes. Regular fertilisation through root tabs helps sustain steady growth. A solid midground plant for Bornean biotope or general planted aquariums.
Light: Low to moderate; does not require strong illumination for healthy growth. CO2: Not required; optional CO2 supplementation increases growth rate and leaf size. Fertilisation: Root tabs in substrate; light to moderate liquid fertilisation. Placement: Midground; plant in small clusters for a natural, lush appearance. Propagation: Runners from the rhizome; separate and replant daughter plants once rooted.
