Cryptocoryne scurrilis
Also known as: Scurrilis Crypt
Origin: Borneo
Cryptocoryne scurrilis is a poorly known Bornean Cryptocoryne that remains extremely rare in cultivation. It produces slender, lance-shaped leaves in medium to dark green tones with a subtle surface texture. Like most Bornean Crypts it grows best in soft, slightly acidic water in stable, mature aquariums with good substrate nutrition. Its rarity and understated elegance make it a sought-after species among dedicated Cryptocoryne collectors and biotope aquarium enthusiasts.
Light: Low; tolerates very low light conditions without complaint. CO2: Beneficial; improves establishment rate in soft water. Substrate: Soft, nutrient-rich substrate with root tabs. Planting: Expose crown; place in a quiet midground area with minimal water flow. Growth: Slow; requires patience and stable conditions to thrive.
