Cryptocoryne uenoi
Origin: Borneo (Sabah)
Cryptocoryne uenoi is a very rare species from Borneo (Sabah), named for Japanese botanist Siro Ueno. It produces narrow strap-like leaves with a subdued but elegant appearance. Among the least commonly encountered Cryptocoryne species in cultivation, it is primarily found in the collections of advanced hobbyists and botanical gardens. Best grown in a dedicated paludarium, species tank, or specialist Crypt collection.
Provide soft, slightly acidic to neutral water under low light conditions. Plant in a nutrient-rich substrate with root tabs. Growth is very slow — patience is required. Avoid frequent transplanting and handle the root system carefully to prevent setbacks. Best maintained in a stable, undisturbed environment where it can establish undisturbed over months to years.
