Cryptocoryne wendtii Red pot

The red form of Cryptocoryne wendtii develops deep red to burgundy leaves with a heavily bullate (blistered) surface texture, especially under stronger lighting. It provides a striking warm color contrast alongside green plants and is equally easy to grow as the other wendtii varieties. A consistent bestseller in Belgian and Dutch aquarium shops for decades.

Plant in nutrient-rich substrate. No CO2 required, though it intensifies the red coloration. Medium light (0.3–0.5 W/L or equivalent LED) encourages the deepest red leaf color. Under very low light, leaves may revert to greenish-brown. Iron-rich fertilizer greatly enhances red expression. Excellent in Nature Aquarium-style layouts as a warm midground accent.
