Cryptocoryne x willisii 'Lucens'

Cryptocoryne x willisii 'Lucens' is a naturally occurring hybrid from Sri Lanka that blends the compact habit of C. willisii with the narrow, bright green leaf form associated with C. lucens. It forms neat, low rosettes that remain under 10 cm, making it one of the very few Cryptocoryne species genuinely useful in the foreground of a planted aquarium. It inherits the excellent hardiness and adaptability of its parent species and is highly recommended for small tanks, nano aquariums, and as a foreground filler in larger layouts.

Light: Low; one of the best Crypts for very low-light foreground use. CO2: Not required; suitable for completely low-tech, uninjected aquariums. Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate or root tabs; thrives in most substrate types. Planting: Expose crown; plant densely (5 cm spacing) for a foreground mat effect. Growth: Slow; spreads via runners to form a dense, low foreground clump over time.
