Sagittaria subulata
Origin: North and South America
Sagittaria subulata is a popular foreground or midground grass plant with narrow, bright-green blades that spread rapidly via runners to form a lush lawn under moderate to high light. One of the most forgiving and versatile carpeting plants available, it adapts well to both low-tech community tanks and high-tech planted aquascapes and performs better than Eleocharis in lower-light conditions.
Plant in substrate and allow to establish. Spreads via runners without assistance. Thrives under medium to high lighting without CO2 in community tanks. With CO2 and high light it creates a dense, fast-spreading carpet. Trim regularly at desired height with aquascaping scissors. Suitable for all aquarium sizes from nano to large display tanks.
