Echinodorus "Tricolor"

Echinodorus 'Tricolor' is a cultivar bred for its extraordinary foliar colour progression. Young leaves emerge red, transition through a pale pinkish-white phase, then finally mature to standard green — so at any given time the rosette displays all three colours at once. This makes it a truly living piece of art in the aquarium. It stays compact at 20–35 cm, which suits tanks of 60 litres and above. Good lighting and CO2 injection are recommended to maintain the full colour expression of all three phases.

Light: High (60+ PAR); all three colour phases are most distinct under bright, balanced lighting. CO2: Beneficial; injection is strongly recommended for vivid colour cycling and compact leaf form. Fertiliser: Root tabs every 3 months; liquid fertiliser with high iron and full micronutrients weekly. Planting: Use as a midground showcase specimen; plant singly; fully expose the crown. Growth: Compact at 20–35 cm; maintains continuous colour cycling throughout the plant's life.
