Echinodorus uruguayensis

Echinodorus uruguayensis — the narrow-leaved Amazon sword — produces long, narrow, grass-like leaves with an elegant sweeping form. Unlike the broad-leaved Amazon sword it has a more delicate appearance. It can exceed 60 cm in tall tanks, creating a dramatic grass-curtain effect. It is fairly undemanding for an Echinodorus, tolerating a range of conditions, though CO2 and good substrate nutrients promote vigorous growth.

Light: medium. Nutrient-rich substrate. CO2 beneficial. Temperature: 18–28°C. Large-growing — plan for background placement. Long-lived once established.
