Fissidens fontanus Phoenix Moss

Fissidens fontanus, Phoenix Moss, is a rarely available aquatic moss with a distinctive feather-like growth form quite unlike other aquarium mosses. The individual fronds branch in a single plane giving a fern-like appearance. Attaches to hardscape and grows slowly but creates a very elegant texture.

Low to medium light. CO2 improves growth rate. pH 5.5–7.5. Attach to driftwood or rocks with thread. Grows slowly but very durably. Does not tolerate very warm water — keep below 26°C for best growth. Excellent shrimp habitat.
