Fissidens fontanus Phoenix Moss

Fissidens fontanus — phoenix moss — produces elegant, feathery pinnate fronds that attach firmly to hardscape. Unlike Java moss it grows in an ordered, overlapping pattern creating a lush, natural appearance reminiscent of tree ferns. It prefers cooler water with moderate flow and good CO2. It is one of the most attractive mosses for Dutch and Nature aquascapes and is prized for its distinctive appearance.

Light: low-medium. Flow: gentle-moderate. Attach to rock or wood. CO2 beneficial. Temperature: 18–26°C preferred (cool). Slower grower than Java moss.
