Fissidens miroshige
Also known as: Fissidens Miroshige
Origin: Japan
Fissidens miroshige is a Japanese aquarium moss species rarely available outside specialist hobbyist circles. Its fronds are even more finely divided than other Fissidens species, creating an intricate, lace-like texture when viewed up close. It thrives in cooler, very clean water with low organic loads, making it best suited to established, well-maintained aquariums with stable parameters and moderate flow.
Light: low to medium light; consistent light duration more important than high intensity. CO2: beneficial; soft, CO2-enriched water produces the finest, densest frond development. Attachment: attach to fine-textured stones with the thinnest cotton thread available; handle fronds gently. Trimming: trim only the outermost growth; internal die-back should be carefully removed by hand. Growth: very slow; propagate only by dividing well-established specimens.
