Fissidens nobilis

Fissidens nobilis is one of the largest and most visually impressive Fissidens species available for aquariums, producing broader, longer fronds with a deeper green colour than F. fontanus. Native to fast-flowing, clear streams in Southeast Asia, it demands good water quality and benefits from CO2 injection to achieve its full potential. Under ideal conditions it forms dense, lush cushions that become a centrepiece of any nature aquascape.

Light: low to medium light; benefits from moderate, consistent lighting. CO2: beneficial; CO2 injection strongly recommended for best growth and colouration. Attachment: bind securely to hardscape with fine cotton thread; allow 4-6 weeks to anchor. Trimming: trim edges to maintain a rounded cushion shape; remove any brown base material. Growth: slow; propagate by dividing established cushions.
