Taxiphyllum sp.
Origin: Asia
Taxiphyllum sp. 'Flame' is named for its upward-growing, twisting fronds that resemble small flames — unlike the drooping growth of Java moss or the flat expansion of Christmas moss. The vertical growth gives it a distinctive architectural presence on rocks and driftwood. It is slightly more demanding than Java moss but still accessible to intermediate planted tank keepers. CO2 injection promotes denser, more vivid growth.
Light: low-medium. Flow: gentle. Attach to hardscape. CO2 beneficial. Temperature: 20–28°C. Distinctive upright flame-like growth distinguishes from other mosses.
