Anubias nana 'Golden'
Also known as: Golden Anubias, Gold Nana
Origin: Cultivated (West Africa origin)
Golden Anubias (Anubias nana 'Golden') is a colour-selected cultivar of Anubias nana that produces consistently golden-yellow to chartreuse-green leaves due to reduced chlorophyll expression. The warm, bright colouration stands in dramatic contrast to the deep greens of typical aquarium plants, making it an ideal focal-point accent. It grows at the same slow pace as standard A. nana and is equally easy to maintain under low light.
Light: low to medium light; moderate light preserves the golden colouration; excessive light can bleach leaves white. CO2: not required; trace element supplementation, especially iron, helps maintain warm golden tones. Attachment: attach rhizome to hardscape with thread or superglue; do not bury the rhizome. Trimming: remove older, greening leaves to maintain the golden colour palette in the display. Growth: very slow; propagate by rhizome division.
