Hydrocotyle tripartita
Origin: Asia / Australia
Hydrocotyle tripartita 'Japan' is a creeping stem plant with small, three-lobed clover-like leaves on short petioles. It grows in a dense, low mat that can function as a carpet under medium to high light. Under CO2 and high light it grows rapidly, spreading across substrate via creeping stems. It is one of the more beginner-accessible carpeting stem plants, working even under moderate light without CO2 (though more slowly). Tissue culture supply ensures pest-free planting.
Light: medium-high. CO2 beneficial for carpet. Temperature: 20–28°C. TC: pest-free. More accessible than HC Cuba for low-tech setups with moderate light.
