Java Fern Microsorum pteropus TC

Microsorum pteropus, Java Fern, is one of the most iconic and widely used aquarium plants worldwide. Its leathery green fronds attach to hardscape and tolerate almost any aquarium condition. Unlike most plants, its rhizome produces plantlets directly on the leaves for easy propagation.

Attach to driftwood or rocks with fishing line. NEVER bury the rhizome. Low light. CO2 not required. pH 5.5–8.0, temperature 18–30°C. Propagates by producing tiny plantlets on leaf tips — detach when 3+ cm and attach separately. One of the hardiest plants available.
