Taxiphyllum barbieri
Origin: Southeast Asia
A coconut shell half densely covered with established Java Moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri), this decorative item doubles as a natural hide for bottom-dwelling fish and invertebrates. It requires no preparation and can be placed directly in the aquarium as an instant green feature. A popular ready-to-use product in Belgian and Dutch aquarium shops, especially loved by shrimp, Corydoras, and other cave-dwelling species.
Place directly in the aquarium in the foreground or midground. Ensure moderate water flow reaches the moss to prevent stagnation. Trim as the moss grows. No CO2 or special fertilization required. The coconut shell provides beneficial hiding spots and breeding sites for fish and invertebrates.
