Lagenandra gomezii
Also known as: Gomez's Lagenandra, Gomezii Lagenandra
Origin: India (Kerala, Karnataka)
Lagenandra gomezii is among the least commonly available Lagenandra species, originating from the coastal river systems of Kerala and Karnataka in South India. It produces narrow, lance-shaped leaves in dark green to bronze tones with a finely textured surface, forming an elegant, understated rosette. Like all Lagenandra species it prefers stable, mature aquarium conditions and soft to moderately hard water. Its rarity and refined appearance make it a highly sought-after addition to specialist planted aquarium and biotope collections.
Light: Low; performs well in shaded positions under very low light. CO2: Beneficial; improves growth rate and colour development in soft water. Substrate: Nutrient-rich substrate with root tabs; peat addition beneficial. Planting: Expose rhizome crown; place as a specimen midground plant; avoid disturbance. Growth: Very slow; among the most deliberate-growing aquatic aroids — patience essential.
