Lagenandra meeboldii
Origin: Sri Lanka
Lagenandra meeboldii 'Red' is a Sri Lankan aquatic plant closely related to Cryptocoryne. The vivid pinkish-red to burgundy leaves with darker veining and a bullate surface create a striking visual contrast against green plants. It grows in a similar manner to Cryptocoryne — rhizomatous, mid-ground height, and tolerant of low to medium light. An unusual and beautiful plant less common in the hobby than Cryptocoryne species.
Light: medium. pH 6.0–7.5. Plant rhizome with crown exposed. CO2 beneficial. Temperature: 24–28°C. Very stable parameters — susceptible to melt like Crypts.
