Ludwigia palustris

Ludwigia palustris is a versatile and adaptable stem plant with oval leaves that shift from olive-green to deep red depending on light intensity and nutrient availability. Widely distributed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, it thrives in a broad range of conditions. An excellent entry point for aquascapers exploring red stem plants.

Plant in the midground in groups of stems. Grows fastest with medium to high light and CO2 supplementation, but adapts to a wide range of conditions. Higher light and iron levels promote richer red tones. Trim tops regularly and replant cuttings for bushy coverage. Very tolerant and forgiving.
