Micranthemum tweediei
Origin: Argentina
Micranthemum tweediei 'Monte Carlo' — the Monte Carlo carpet — forms a dense, low carpet of small, round, bright green leaves. It is significantly easier to grow than Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba' and has become the preferred carpet plant for most planted tank setups. Tissue culture supply ensures pest-free, snail-free planting. CO2 injection is strongly recommended for a dense, flat carpet. It spreads by runners and covers substrate within a few months.
Light: medium-high. CO2 strongly recommended. Plant in 2 cm clumps. Temperature: 20–28°C. TC: pest/snail free. Runners spread to fill tank floor within 2–3 months under CO2.
