Microsorum musifolium

Microsorum musifolium (Crocodile Fern / Banana Fern) produces extraordinarily large, lacy fronds covered in a distinctive scale-like pattern giving them a prehistoric, reptilian appearance. Best suited to large aquariums or paludariums where its full size can be appreciated. Prefers moderate light and grows relatively slowly.

Attach the rhizome to large driftwood or rock — do not bury in substrate. Thrives under moderate light with or without CO2. Grows slowly but impressively. Suits large display aquariums and paludariums. Compatible with all fish and invertebrates. Propagates from plantlets that form on older leaves.
