Microsorum pteropus 'Java'

Microsorum pteropus 'Java' is the classic Java Fern, a timeless aquarium staple valued for its resilience, low light tolerance, and attractive dark-green lance-shaped fronds. It reproduces through tiny plantlets that grow along the leaf margins, gradually colonizing driftwood and rocks. An ideal plant for community tanks, low-tech setups, and fish-only aquariums.

Attach rhizome to driftwood or rock — never bury in substrate. Tolerates very low light. No CO2 required. Provide occasional liquid fertilizer for richer colour. Propagates abundantly from leaf plantlets.
