Riccardia chamedryfolia
Origin: Europe, Asia
Riccardia chamedryfolia, commonly called Mini Pellia, is a tiny liverwort with an intricate branching structure reminiscent of miniature coral. Its dark emerald-green fronds create a beautiful dense carpet when tied or glued to hardscape. It is particularly popular in nano tanks and shrimp setups where its small scale is perfectly proportioned. Slower-growing than Riccia, it is more manageable and less demanding. Requires no CO2 in moderate lighting.
Attach to rocks, driftwood, or mesh with thread or gel glue. Medium light sufficient; CO2 accelerates growth but not required. Temperature 15–28 °C; wide tolerance. Regular water changes to prevent algae competition. Very popular in shrimp tanks as it provides excellent grazing surface.
