Myriophyllum aquaticum (Parrot Feather)

Myriophyllum aquaticum, the Parrot Feather, is a fast-growing South American milfoil that produces dense whorls of bright, feathery green leaves both submerged and above the waterline. It grows vigorously under high light and nutrient-rich conditions, making it a powerful natural filter and oxygenator. Its soft, fine-textured foliage creates ideal spawning and fry-rearing habitat for many egg-scattering fish species.

Plant in groups in nutrient-rich substrate under high lighting. CO2 supplementation accelerates growth significantly. Trim regularly to prevent shading lower plants. Can become invasive in natural waterways—dispose of responsibly and never release into the wild.
