Myriophyllum heterophyllum
Origin: North America
Myriophyllum heterophyllum is a North American milfoil distinguished by its variable leaf morphology: submerged leaves are finely divided and feathery, while emergent leaves are broader, toothed, and more solid-looking. It adapts well to aquarium conditions under moderate to high light and produces a lush, natural aesthetic in large planted tanks and Dutch aquascapes. Regular trimming encourages a fuller, bushier growth habit and prevents the plant from monopolizing light.
Plant in groups in nutrient-rich substrate under moderate to high lighting. CO2 supplementation improves growth quality and stem colour. Trim frequently as it grows vigorously. Best suited to mid-background positions in larger aquaria.
