Nymphaea 'Aurora'
Origin: France (Latour-Marliac, 1895)
Nymphaea 'Aurora' is a compact changeable variety ideal for small ponds, tubs, and balcony water features, offering flowers that open yellow and transition through orange to a deep blood-red over three days—providing a remarkable multi-coloured display at any one time. Heavily mottled purple and green leaves complete the ornamental picture. Very popular in the Netherlands and Belgium for miniature water features and terrace ponds where space is limited.
Grow in a small container with aquatic loam in 20–50 cm of water in full sun. Fertilize monthly during the growing season. Overwinter in frost-free conditions or keep submerged in a deep enough pond (40 cm+). Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering.
