About

Nymphaea 'Colorado' is a Perry hybrid producing flowers in a soft, refined palette — salmon-pink to peach tones that warm and deepen over the 3–4 day bloom period. The colour is more understated than vivid orange or red cultivars, lending a certain gentle elegance well suited to naturalistic and cottage-garden pond settings. Multiple blooms at different stages present an attractive blend of tones simultaneously on the water surface.

The plant is of compact to medium vigour, suitable for small to medium ponds, and is fully cold-hardy. The floating pads are rounded and mid-green, providing a clean backdrop for the softly coloured blooms. It flowers reliably throughout summer under adequate sunlight and benefits from regular fertilisation to maintain its productivity.

'Colorado' is an excellent choice for pond owners who prefer the softer end of the colour spectrum and want a changeable cultivar with warm, peach-salmon tones rather than the more common orange-to-red range.

Care Guide

Light: Full sun preferred; tolerates partial shade with reduced flowering. CO2: Not required. Fertilisation: Aquatic fertiliser tabs at planting in spring; top-dress mid-season. Placement: Small to medium ponds at 30–70 cm depth. Propagation: Divide rhizome every 3–4 years in spring to maintain bloom quality.
