Nymphaea 'Helvola'
Origin: France (Latour-Marliac, 1879)
Nymphaea 'Helvola' is the smallest and most free-flowering of the hardy yellow water lilies, perfectly scaled for tub ponds, half-barrels, and mini water features with as little as 20 cm water depth. Its tiny sulphur-yellow, star-shaped flowers appear prolifically throughout the summer above attractively mottled olive and purple pads no more than 10 cm across. A bestseller in Dutch and Belgian garden shops for terrace pond and balcony water feature enthusiasts.
Ideal for tub ponds and small containers in full sun at 15–40 cm water depth. Plant in small aquatic basket with loam. Feed with miniature aquatic fertilizer tablets. Overwinter by moving container indoors frost-free or sinking deeper. Thrives in containers from as small as 30 cm diameter.
