Nymphaea 'Marliacea Chromatella'
Origin: France (Latour-Marliac, 1887)
Nymphaea 'Marliacea Chromatella' is one of the best-known and most widely planted yellow water lilies in the world, bearing canary-yellow flowers with golden stamens over beautifully mottled olive-green and purple-streaked leaves. Bred by Latour-Marliac in 1887, it is exceptionally hardy, long-lived, and tolerates slight shade better than most water lily varieties—making it one of the most versatile and reliable pond plants available to Belgian and Dutch gardeners.
Plant at 40–100 cm water depth, tolerates partial shade. Use rich aquatic loam in a large basket. Feed monthly from April to September with aquatic fertilizer tablets. Divide every 4–5 years when flowering becomes sparse. One of the easiest water lilies to grow.
