Nymphaea 'Sioux'
Origin: France (Latour-Marliac, 1901)
Nymphaea 'Sioux' is a unique changeable water lily whose flowers open creamy yellow and deepen through orange to copper-red as they age over 3–4 days, so multiple color phases appear simultaneously on the same plant—providing a permanently multicolored display. The attractively mottled bronze-green leaves add additional ornamental interest throughout the growing season. A widely stocked and perennially popular variety in Dutch and Belgian pond centres.
Plant at 30–60 cm water depth in full sun with aquatic loam. Feed monthly with aquatic fertilizer tablets. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new flower production. Divide every 3–4 years when congestion reduces flowering.
