Pogostemon stellatus Octopus Plant

Pogostemon stellatus, the Octopus Plant, features distinctive whorled arrangements of narrow needle-like leaves radiating from the stem in a star-like pattern. A fast grower under high light and CO2, it produces lovely pinkish-purple colouration. Excellent for background plantings in high-tech aquascapes.

Requires moderate to high lighting and CO2 supplementation for best growth and colouration. Plant in nutrient-rich substrate and supplement with liquid fertilisers. Trim regularly. Under low-tech conditions, growth slows significantly and leaves remain green. Propagate by stem cuttings.
